Should I switch to a different hospital?

My question is should I change to a different hospital? I am 11 weeks pregnant and suddenly began feeling lots of cramping last night. I called my OB doctors' office & the doctor on call was my primary doctor, but she just said to call back in the morning and they MIGHT schedule an appointment even though I was very upset. I decided to go to the ER at a different hospital, where the staff took my issue seriously and they were very reassuring that everything was OK. I'm now thinking of moving my care to the other hospital(selecting a new OB that uses that hospital.) Should I do it or stay at my old one and demand a better level of care?

HI SUE,
THERE ARE MANY FACTORS IN YOUR QUESTION. FIRST VOICE YOUR CONCERN WITH THE WAY YOU WERE TREATED TO THE COUSTOMER RELATIONS DEPT. AT THE HOSPITAL WERE THE OBGYN WILL DELIVER YOUR BABY. SEE WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY. YOU DID THE RIGHT THING BY GOING TO THE ER. YOU HAVE TO LOOK OUT FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR BABY. IF YOU DONT LIKE YOUR OBGYN. ASK AROUND FOR A REFERAL. TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE BUT LET THEM KNOW WHY YOUR LEAVING SO PERHAPS THEY COULD IMPROVE ON THEIR BEDSIDE MANNERS. GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR NEW BABY AS IN OHIO

Absolutely go to another doctor & hospital. That is ridiculous that when you called after hours, clearly upset, that they brushed you off. And I agree with Andrea, tell your old doctor why you're leaving. Be angry! If something had happened to your baby that doctor wouldn't have taken any responsibility anyway!
